Heavenly Food in the City of Angels

I had the pleasure of visiting Los Angeles this past weekend. It was amazing to be among the warm sun, perfect palm trees and city lights. One of my favorite things to do on vacation is to EAT! LOL Its the perfect time to break the bank and ditch the diet cuz, hey YOLO right? Well I am happy to report that we did just that. From burger joints to fine dining, everything we consumed was to die for! So here's where I'll highlight the best of the best and my recommendations for some yummy LA eats. Bon appetit!

Del Frisco's Grille

First of all, can we talk about this drink! I can't remember what is was called (probably 1 too many lol) but I do know that it was a mix of Tito's Vodka, simple syrup, strawberry puree and a dash of balsamic. It was ahhhmazing! Not too sweet and perfectly fruity, it was a great refreshing cocktail to start off the night.

For dinner, I got the Brick Chicken. Where most places try to execute a juicy piece, they typically fall short and end up an actual brick. However, my Brick was anything but. Soft and savory with a flavorful skin, it paired perfectly with crisp asparagus and mashed potatoes reminiscent of old school soul food. My hubby, unfortunately, has the appetite of a 12 year old so no matter where we go, he will always either order a burger or a steak n cheese sandwich. Naturally, he ordered the Shaved Prime Steak Sandwich..plain..no extras. Alas, the picky eater was very pleased. I snagged a bite and was also delighted with a cheesy chunk of delicate steak. 5 stars! *****

The Hudson

I fell in love the moment I walked in. A dark and rustic vibe complete with actual growing timber sprouting through the floor boards. It was cool and hip, set with low lighting and wooden accents. We started off with drinks all of which were at a set price a modest $11. I opted for the Not Named Yet; full of Tito's Vodka (are we seeing a trend here?) , elder flower, grapefruit and prosecco..they should name it Everything, because it literally has everythinggg I love; gluten free vodka to keep it slim, prosecco to keep it classy. Hubs super surprised me by grabbing The Huddy which consisted of gin, lime, cucumber and basil. Colorful, cool and ridiculously refreshing, I loved it! And clearly so did he because he ordered 4 or 5, I don't know I lost count.

We didn't want to get too full so we just had some crispy buffalo chicken wings and mac n cheese with a little added smoky short rib. Comfort food at it's finest! Beautiful ambiance, hearty appetizers and exceptional service earned The Hudson an A+ in my book!

I soon found that many LA eateries took the same approach when it came to interiors. Clean and sleek highlighted with natural botanical elements. Just down the street from Rodeo Dr, Spago sets a classic and chic tone to your exquisite dining experience. Wolfgang Puck's team provided exceptional service from the moment we walked in. A wood fired flatbread topped with roasted peppers, goat cheese and scrumptious shrimp paired perfectly with a tall glass of bubbly. This light and simple lunch was the perfect start to an afternoon of shopping. So if you're feeling a little fancy, head on over to this simple and sophisticated bistro.

BOA Steakhouse

Who doesn't love a good steakhouse? This is when we really go big. It was time to bottom out on a bomb steak. Upon reviewing the menu however; I decided on the Chilean Sea Bass. And what a great choice it was! Super soft and tender with a nice crisp on the outside. Seasoned with simple lemon and butter, this fish was just delightful. The hubs dove in for the Bone In Kansas City Filet and we shared some savory sides of mouth watering mac n cheese and creamy garlic mashed potatoes. Not only was the food incredible, but the atmosphere was amazing, adorned with beautiful accents and lovely low lighting to set the mood. It was the perfect finish to an awesome weekend. Wine and dine true celeb and this happenin hot spotCheers!
