Walking in Memphis
I saw these shoes and just started singing.."Put on my blue suede shoes and I..boarded the plan.." I literally used to LOVE that song so anything that triggers that nostalgia is good in my book and these little blue booties stole my heart the second I saw them. Now While they are not technically suede...we can improvise! They are velvet however, and clearly Steve Madden has taken a clue from the widely spread trend perfectly with these pair.
Obviously we can all tell by now the 90's fashions are back with a vengeance and hunny I ain't mad at it! Being a middle schooler with no money and a closet full of less than fashionable cheesy little girl clothes, I idolized the looks of Gwen Stefani, Cher Horowitz and the Spice Girls dreaming of one day donning a cool crush velvet baby tee accurately accessorized with a stretchy caged choker and sky high platformed Maryannes. Years later, these soft and smooth velvety booties are filling that adolesent void quite well.
Now on to the outfit, I decided to keep it basic and just highlight the shoes. I've talked about these jeans before and how much I freakin LOVE them! Just for a refresher...they're from GAP and they're amazingggg. They've become my everyday go to, the perfect fit and wash with a trendy frayed hem. Paired with them just some basics like my favorite heather grey casual cardi from Free People and an easy pull on leotard.
